Civil engineering

Marine civil engineering projects involve construction of roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings.

Marine mammals

Pre- during and post-construction activities often require baseline monitoring and mitigation for marine life. In the absence of appropriate mitigation measures, construction activities associated with civil engineering projects, such as pile-driving or blasting, are likely to produce underwater noise and vibration levels capable of causing injury and disturbance to marine mammals.

What do I require for my civil engineering project?

A range of OSC Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) systems can be applied to civil engineering projects depending on budget and desired deployment method. An OSC towed PAM system, an ‘Over the side’ (OTS), real-time vertically deployed single PAM hydrophone system or an array of radio-linked single or multiple PAMs can also be used. In addition, OSC offers Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) services including high-quality underwater inspections and professional post-survey analysis of footage.
